Content management system by Affecto speeds up application processing at the Unemployment Fund of PAM
The Unemployment Fund of Service Union United PAM is renewing its content management system, which processes approximately 200 000 benefit applications each year. The new system is provided by Affecto and will be in use in September.
Almost all documents handled by the unemployment fund are in the system. In the year 2010, 564 000 pages were scanned and entered into it, including all applications with their appendices. The most important change compared to the previous system is the automatic indexing of documents after scanning.
”Auto-indexing reduces the amount of manual work considerably. In the new system, only about 20% of the documents need to be indexed by hand, compared to over 30% in the earlier system,” says Markku Virtanen, director of the Unemployment Fund of PAM.
Especially the early stages of the application processing will become faster. The goal is to expedite decision-making and free up resources to other tasks.
The fund’s previous content management system was also supplied by Affecto, and had been in used for over 10 years.
”During the past years, the systems reliability has been very high, and Affecto has got to know our operations through and through over the years. This is why we decided to continue our collaboration,” says Virtanen.
