Affecto develops IT systems for Metsähallitus

Affecto's GIS service unit, Karttakeskus Oy, will deliver several systems to Metsähallitus. Karttakeskus will build for Metsähallitus a system for managing the operational planning of forest management and maintaining the forest information. Also, Karttakeskus will deliver a system for managing, planning and monitoring the protected nature areas for Metsähallitus and the Ministry of the Environment. This system will also be used by Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment.

The systems will be built during 2011-2012. The total value of the project is about 2.6 MEUR. The agreement includes 4 year maintenance. The project consortium managed by Karttakeskus, includes also Arbonaut Oy and Esri Finland Oy.

Metsähallitus is a state-run enterprise that administers in a sustainable way the state-owned land and water areas in Finland. Its tasks are divided into business activities and public administration duties.
